The monument to the victims of the Holocaust in the village of Yantarny is designed to remind of the tragic date in the history of the region and the country. In 1941, in the 45th in the village of Palmniken (modern Yantarny), the SS men shot prisoners who arrived in Königsberg mostly from Polish and Hungarian camps. Thousands of columns passed about 50 km to the place of execution, and only half was reached. Only 13 out of 7,000 people survived this bloody story.
